      It is one of standard directories of Unix/Linux filesystem and generally used for binary-only, non-essential, add-on application packages.

    3. 1. From the menu bar, select:
      System > Preferences > Main Menu
      2. Select a category where you want to add your app, for example:
      Application > Programming
      3. Click "New Item" button
      4. Enter a name and browse your app to link, etc.

    1. You can use Ubuntu's default file manager "nautilus" to CUT & PAST the folder. I think you have to launch it as administrator (sudo):

      $ gksudo nautilus
